BIO IT Coalition Student Recognition Program

The BIO IT Coalition is pleased to announce a scholarship program to honor and highlight the academic accomplishments of students in fields that support the convergence of bioscience and information technology.  Winners will be selected based on the scope of their work and its relevance to the BIO IT Coalition's aim to improve the future of healthcare.  Each awrdee will receive $1,000.

Purpose
To recognize students in the Bio/IT field for their outstanding academic efforts, to encourage scholarly research, and to build the Bio/IT workforce. 

Eligibility
Students at all levels of education are encouraged to apply, but must attend a high school, community college, or university at the time of the conference in April 2009.  To qualify, the student must be studying or conducting research in any of the following academic fields: life science, information technology; medicine; health sciences; bioengineering; bioinformatics; systems biology; or other related fields.  He/she must also have a GPA of 3.0 at the time of nomination.
